LONDON, UK – In November 2011, all businesses that participate in the UK's capital markets will be required to record their company's mobile communications. Cryoserver, an email archive company, has a new product which will help businesses comply with this new regulation.
The Financial Services Authority (FSA), which regulates the UK's financial services businesses, has recently mandated that all companies that participate in the country's capital markets must record the mobile communications of all their employees who are involved in trading. This regulation covers voice, SMS and IM messages and takes effect Nov. 14, 2011.
Financial companies are faced with the need to find a recording system that will be unobtrusive enough that it will not interfere with the communications of their traders and clients. However, it must be comprehensive enough that vital calls will always be recorded. And of course, all financial companies want to keep their costs down.
"Cryoserver's CryoSIM card meets all of the requirements for businesses that are subject to FSA regulations," explains Robin Bingeman from Cryoserver, an email compliance company. "Calls and messages are recorded in the core network and are easily accessible for investigations. But the system is simple to install and unobtrusive. End users will not even know it's there."
CryoSIM allows businesses to record voice calls and archive them in realtime. Easy to use and effective, the system only requires installing a replacement SIM card in the phone – and does not necessitate installing software on any device. CryoSIM permits companies to do business whenever and wherever they want - while still conforming with the regulations.
The Cryoserver email archiving systems let employees find specific emails quickly and easily. The CryoSIM card gives the same functionality to recorded calls, permitting users to locate any archived recording in a matter of seconds. Additionally, in a single search employees can comb through the records for voice recordings, emails and IM conversations.
"Businesses must also be able to demonstrate that whatever archiving system they use will resist tampering," notes Bingeman, whose company provides email forensics. "Cryoserver's system is tamper evident and will meet any forensic needs."
