Cryoserver's Versatility

London, UK - Selecting an email archiving software solution can be difficult with all the different vendors offering a solution. The answer is to select a compliance solution, a flexible solution delivered in a number of different ways.

The Cryoserver email archiving software solution is now available as an email archiving appliance, as email archiving software only, or as a hosted archiving service "in the cloud."  The product is exactly the same throughout each delivery option. Here are some of the factors when choosing a delivery method:

  • "In The Cloud" or "In-House" Solution: Do you want the data "in-house" or are you happy for it to be in a data centre? A third party gives you an extra layer of back up and security - without the archiving software and the associated costs. On the other hand, having an archive in a data centre may go against your company’s IT or compliance policies.
  •  Appliance or Software:  Unless you have an IT department with experience in installing and maintaining servers and software applications, a plug-and-play appliance is most likely to be the most cost effective.  For those with the infrastructure and storage already available, then the Cryoserver software approach- either as a virtual image or as a Linux or Windows application- is a cost effective alternative to an appliance or "in the cloud" option.
  • Cost: The cost of the various options obviously varies, but the number of users and volume of emails has a very big influence on the overall cost over its lifetime. An "in the cloud" solution may be the most expensive solution and an appliance the cheapest over time. Depending on your budget and environment, we can find a solution which fits.
  • Migrating Between Options: Archiving is a long-term requirement; six years is a typical minimum for the retention of data and during this time, situations may change. Since Cryoserver is offered in a number of different ways, it is very easy to migrate between solutions. If you want a managed service today and an appliance tomorrow, you can easily swap.

This variety of delivery methods means that Cryoserver can fit seamlessly into the plans of any size organization. If your organization changes, Cryoserver can change with you.
